leadership volunteer have many choices. In our community, there are an array of
remarkable organizations engaged in the important work of making our world a
better place. We are humbled knowing that you are interested in us.
The following application offers us an opportunity to know more about you, your
skills, attributes and what you would bring to our board. It also gives you a sense of
what matters to us in any board candidate.
The goal of our process is to determine if we are a good fit for each other – your level
of commitment and ability to deliver on our expectations so that we are confident
that you can help us to increase the scope and impact of our work. On the other side,
we want to know what motivates you and how you think about our organization so
that we can help to create an excellent board experience for you.

Minimum Member Expectations:
- Possess an interest in GBYFC's goals.
- Attend all Board meetings, including the Annual Meeting and all assigned committee meetings.
- Review minutes of the last Board meeting prior to the meeting for content, accuracy, etc.
- Bring expertise, energy, ideas, and leadership to the board and committees in service of GBYFC goals.
- Learn about the organization, support the programs of GBYFC, and promote GBYFC within the community.
- Utilize personal contacts, expertise, and other individual avenues to raise funds for GBYFC.
- Be willing to offer leadership to the organization as needed.
- Assist at all HOME games. Beginning with setup prior to the commencement of the first game and not concluding until cleanup is completed following the last game's conclusion.
Board Member Responsibilities:
- Planning: Board members have three key responsibilities in this area:
- Setting and reviewing the organization’s mission/philosophy and goals.
- Planning for the organization’s future on a long-range and short-range basis.
- Deciding and planning which services and programs the organization provides.
- Finance: Board members have four key responsibilities in this area:
- Ensuring financial accountability of the organization and internal controls.
- Overseeing an on-going process of budget development, approval, and review.
- Raising funds and ensuring that adequate funds are raised to support the organization’s policies and programs.
- Managing and maintaining properties or investments that the organization possesses.
- Community Relations: Board members have four key responsibilities in this area:
- Ensuring that the organization’s programs and services appropriately address community and client needs.
- Marketing the organization’s services and programs.
- On-going public relations, with the awareness that Board members are always emissaries of the organization in the community.
- Cooperative action, which includes occasions when the organization could or should take part in coalitions, joint fundraising, and the like.
- Human Resources: Board members have four key responsibilities in this area:
- Board membership, which includes the recruiting of new board members, recognizing and nurturing existing Board members, and providing existing Board members with opportunities to grow and develop as leaders.
- Board member’s accountability, which includes on-going annual evaluation of the Executive Directors.
- Personnel policies, which includes providing policy guidance about volunteer training, game day and practice operations, and grievance procedures.
- Volunteer involvement, which include setting policy regarding how volunteers should be utilized, in what areas, and generally how the organization should treat, recognize, and celebrate its volunteers.
- Organizational Operations: Board members have four key responsibilities in this area:
- Ensuring that the organization’s administrative systems are adequate and appropriate.
- Ensuring that the board’s operations are adequate and appropriate.
- Ensuring that the organizational and legal structure is adequate and appropriate.
- Ensuring that the organization and its Board member meet all applicable legal requirements.

President- Strategic Planning, overall management
Vice President- Monitoring and strengthening the organization's programs and services
Secretary- Overseeing program records, communications, and programs legal compliance.
Football Director- Overseeing football program development and implementation
Cheer Director- Overseeing cheerleading program development and implementation
Treasurer- Financial planning, accounting, budgeting
Fundraising Coordinator- Managing volunteer recruitment and engagement
Volunteer Coordinator- Managing volunteer recruitment and engagement
Field/Equipment Coordinator- Managing all equipment and field preparations
Concessions Coordinator- Managing all concessions supplies and food truck recruitment and scheduling
Assistant Football/Flag Director- Overseeing flag football program development and implementation.
Assistant Cheer Director- Assisting cheer director in overseeing cheer program development and implementation
Press Box Coordinator- Management of all press box activity at home games
